What to look out for in UMD CHEM 271
-
Exam Practice
~50% of UMD chemistry professors share a portion of their old exams and keys for students to practice (but not their complete exam set). Only 1 professor shares their complete exam set. Tutor with me 1-on-1 to find out who that is!
-
Curve Setback
Students frequently have classmates who have taken CHEM 271 before, making it their 2nd attempt (or even 3rd attempt) and therefore putting first-timers at a disadvantage for the grading curve.
-
Make-Up Exam Policy
75% of professors have their makeup exams a few days before the final. Students are frequently surprised they are comprehensive exams, which feels like a 2nd final!
-
Absence Policy
After an emergency, including hospitalization, ~80% of UMD chem professors expect you to take their exam same time as everyone else when you return to campus.
